Anton Silberblatt grew up in East London, studied Computer Science at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, and arrived at software development via a route that most developers haven't taken: audio engineering, field service, network cabling, retail management, and somewhere in between, a stint in the UK.
The through-line was always curiosity and craft. At Crown Communications he ran a studio — mixing, mastering, sourcing voice artists, keeping the machines running and the clients happy. At Ellies Electronics he went from field technician to call centre manager to store manager in four years — all the while still keeping the machines running — building a fluency with broken systems and the humans who depend on them.
He represented Rhodes University's first soccer team and the Eastern Province University side at USASA. He believes Ethiopia is keeping better time than the rest of us. He built an oracle. He is a life-path 22 — the master builder — and he takes that seriously.
