The Go Company is a boutique software house based in South Africa, building bespoke systems that answer real company pain points. Anton joined as part of the founding technical team — a group that had been working together at Carrick Wealth before going independent to pursue what they actually wanted to build.

Seven years in, Anton's role has grown from developer to trusted technical generalist: writing Python and Django back-ends, architecting AWS infrastructure, owning QA processes on mobile and web, producing client training content, and occasionally being the person who figures out why the whole thing stopped working at 11pm.

The industries covered aren't a coincidence — they reflect an approach to software that starts with the domain, not the framework. A logistics platform is not an automotive platform is not a payroll system. Each one required learning the business deeply before writing the first line.

Note: all systems are The Go Company IP. thegocompany.io tells their story publicly. Reach out there if you need a well-oiled machine — with a team of 10–15 devs behind it.

The builder
behind the build.

"I studied computer science at Rhodes and when music — my first love — fell through due to my inability to market myself, my thoughts naturally leant towards IT. Where I soon realised I enjoyed the challenge, the logical or mathematical creativeness to transform an idea into a digital solution. The numbers 0 and 1 rang their bell. And I am honestly, thoroughly happy being a developer. A master builder."

Anton Silberblatt grew up in East London, studied Computer Science at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, and arrived at software development via a route that most developers haven't taken: audio engineering, field service, network cabling, retail management, and somewhere in between, a stint in the UK.

The through-line was always curiosity and craft. At Crown Communications he ran a studio — mixing, mastering, sourcing voice artists, keeping the machines running and the clients happy. At Ellies Electronics he went from field technician to call centre manager to store manager in four years — all the while still keeping the machines running — building a fluency with broken systems and the humans who depend on them.

He represented Rhodes University's first soccer team and the Eastern Province University side at USASA. He believes Ethiopia is keeping better time than the rest of us. He built an oracle. He is a life-path 22 — the master builder — and he takes that seriously.

Let's build
something.

If you've read this far, you have a sense of how I work. I'm open to part-time, contract, and the right full-time role. Strong preference for remote; open to relocation for something genuinely compelling.
